STD and STI Testing and Treatment

Most sexually transmitted infections cause no symptoms at all, which is exactly why testing matters and why waiting until something feels wrong is the wrong strategy. We test for chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV, trichomoniasis, hepatitis B and hepatitis C, and we evaluate symptoms such as discharge, burning with urination, pelvic or testicular pain, sores, and unexplained rashes.

You do not need an appointment and you do not need to explain yourself. Walk in, tell the front desk you are here for testing, and you will be seen like any other patient. Your visit and your results are protected health information and are handled the same way every other medical record here is handled.

Several tests give results during the visit; others come back from the laboratory within a few days, and we contact you either way, including when everything is negative. Where treatment is indicated we start it the same day, and for some infections we can treat on suspicion rather than making you wait for confirmation. We will also talk through partner notification and retesting, because treating one person and not the other is how reinfection happens.

The CDC recommends routine screening for sexually active people even without symptoms, with the interval depending on age, pregnancy and risk. If you are not sure what applies to you, that conversation is part of the visit. Testing after a specific exposure has its own timing — some infections are not detectable immediately — and we will tell you when to come back rather than giving you a result that cannot yet mean anything.

Testing should be easy to get and easy to get quickly. We are open Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., no appointment needed, with on-site laboratory services so most of the work happens in one visit.
